Obituary

Alicia H. Ackerman, 68, Springfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in Cox South.  She was born January 15, 1954 in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Alice Marie (Gleason) Burkhart.

Alicia was an incredibly selfless person who always put others before herself.   Her devout faith played a major role in her life and paved her way to heaven.  She is an angel now looking down upon our family, holding us and guiding us through our sorrow.  Her family was the focus of her life as she was the rock of our family. Her granddaughter, Quinn was the brightest joy in her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim and Larry Burkhart and sister, Mary Lou Myatt.

She is survived by her loving husband, Don Ackerman; daughter, Jenny Jobe; sons, Paul Ackerman and Sam Ackerman and his wife, Lauren; granddaughter, Quinn Ackerman; three sisters, Judy Stegman, Vicki Jensen and Diane Lix; and two brothers, Mike Burkhart and Tim Burkhart.

She was loved and will be missed greatly.

Memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a rosary at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Patrick Ike Nwokoye celebrant.  Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Maintenance Fund or Harmony House.
