Alice Wiles Roy, 74, of Springfield, Missouri passed away in her home on July 27, 2017. She was born in Springfield on December 12, 1942, the daughter of Jack C. and Martha E. Wiles.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bill Roy of the home. Also surviving are her son, Chris Rhodes of Springfield, his children Trista Waldron and husband Matt and great-grandchildren Colton and Adley Waldron, and Madison and Connor Rhodes. A son, Patrick, preceded Alice in death and his children, Garrett and Gillian and great-grandchild Maggie of Springfield survive along with her brother, Tom Wiles of Springfield and stepchildren, Jim and Debbie Roy.

Alice graduated from Greenwood High School and attended Missouri State University. She worked in the Spokane, Missouri school system for 26 years until her retirement. During that time she sponsored her students many times on European trips. She also sailed with family aboard sailboats several times from Florida throughout the Bahama Islands. Alice attended many art classes and loved to create art projects. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and volunteered at Next To New.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Private burial will be at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
