IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Therese
Huewe
May 15, 1937 – March 3, 2021
Alice Therese Huewe died at home surrounded by her children on March 3. Alice was born to Gratton and Mary Ellen Toohey in 1937 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Alice's spirited childhood was filled with the companionship of eight beloved siblings. She learned to play the piano at a young age. Her love for music grew as music flowed throughout her childhood home where someone was either playing the piano, the violin, or singing.
She was married to her loving husband, Douglas Huewe, M.D. for 53 years, who preceded her in death. Alice is survived by seven children: Douglas, Jr., Catherine (Sven) Bosold, Rebecca, Joseph, Mary Ann (Robert) Fornatto, Therese (John) Lang and Patrick (Heather) Huewe and ten grandchildren. Alice is survived by her siblings: MaryMargaret DeLorenzo, Catherine (Walter) Handzlik, Richard (Mary) Toohey, Constance Toohey and brother-in-law, Dwaine (Judy) Huewe. She is preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Green, and brothers, Robert, Patrick, and Gerald Toohey.
Alice's children and grandchildren filled her heart.
She will be remembered for her smile, constant cheerfulness and patience; a reflection of her wisdom.
In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, funeral services will be held privately.
She will be laid to rest at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
