Alfreeda Joan Albaugh, 81, of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 3:00PM October 4, 2012 in Springfield, Missouri at Mercy Villa. She was born on a farm in Chickasaw County Iowa to Fred and Hattie Swinton. She spent her early years near Nashua, Iowa and graduated from Plainfield High School. She married Ronald Albaugh October 6, 1951 in Charles City, Iowa where they lived until 1959. They lived in Ottumwa, Iowa and Topeka, Kansas before moving to Springfield in 1968. Alfreeda had two daughters, LeAnn Keeslar and Susan Raper. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for 40 years and was an active member of the Lovely Lane Circle and M&M class. Alfreeda was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Hattie Swinton, sisters Mildred Shultz, Wilma Braend and brothers Harold Swinton, Dale Swinton and Bill Swinton. She is survived by her husband Ronald Albaugh, daughters Susan Raper and LeAnn Keeslar, son-in-law Charlie Raper all of Springfield, MO; grandchildren Charles Kennedy and Wes Keeslar of Springfield, MO; Emily Keeslar and Amelia Keeslar of Kirksville, MO and great-grandchild Ashlyn Keeslar of Springfield, MO and sisters Doris White, Helen Ascher and Lois Brodt; brothers Don Swinton, Herbert Swinton, Maurice Swinton, Vernon Swinton, and Roger Swinton and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. October 13, 2012 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronald McIntire officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
