Lyman "Al" Turner, 68, Springfield, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 in his home. He was born July 15, 1948 in Springfield, the son of Herbert M. and Betty Turner.

Al loved camping, spending time at the family trailer at the river, playing poker, geocaching, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Al served his country in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Susan.

Al is survived by his son, Jamie Turner; daughter, Christy Holmes; two sisters, Becky Morgan and Nancy Malm; two grandchildren, Shelby and Dusty Holmes; sister-in-law, Brenda Johnson and her family;  brother-in-law, Jeff Patterson and his wife, Kim and their children; and a host of lifetime friends.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.  A celebration of Al's life will follow in the Eagle's Lodge at 4:00 p.m.  Arrangements are under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
