IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Al
Labrie
November 30, 1943 – January 18, 2021
Albert Napoleon Joseph LaBrie went to be with the Lord Jesus at the age of 77 on January 18 th , 2021 at 11:13pm. He passed peacefully in his home in Springfield MO., surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren; singing songs, reading scripture and telling stories that honored his amazing life.
Al was born November 30 th , 1943, in Manchester NH., the eldest of nine children to the late Albert and Faith LaBrie. Al spent his youth playing baseball and diving; he won 2nd place in the New Hampshire state championship at the age of 12. At the end of high school Al started doing construction, a profession he would work for the rest of his life earning the title of Master Carpenter. He built homes in three states, including Colorado and California, as well as a resort in Belize. Al was saved by the Lord at the age of 30 while living in California. He would go on to serve as a teacher, pastor, and drama director of plays, skits, and large productions; he also built and designed all the sets. In 2004 Al retired and moved to Nixa MO., where he met and married his wonderful wife Judy. Throughout his life he loved the outdoors; his fondest memories, other than the times when he was used by God to bless others, were spending time with his children going backpacking, swimming at the beach, fishing, family game nights and family Bible studies. Al loved painting, playing guitar, golfing and telling jokes. He also loved to talk about theology and life while smoking cigars on his back porch.
He is survived by his wife Judy, 9 children, 20 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents and his brother Ron.
