IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Adam Turner,
Jr.
September 1, 1931 – July 19, 2021
Adam Turner, Jr, age 89, of Kimberling City, Missouri departed this life on Monday, July 19, 2021 at his family home.
Adam was born September 1, 1931 in Pomona, Missouri the son of Adam and Gladys (Brown) Turner.
Adam served his country in the US Army during the Korean War as a Sgt. 1 st Class from 1953 – 1954.
On April 25, 1954 Adam was united in marriage with Mae E. Tedder and they shared 56 years together before her passing on June 10, 2010.
Many hours were spent teaching young people to water ski. Windermere was a favorite place the youth of Maywood Baptist Church went each year at Lake of the Ozarks. This was one of Adam's many fond memories. He was also very involved pitching softball for church leagues in the Kansas City area. Spending time coaching his son's basketball teams at church was one of his greatest accomplishments. Adam loved to spend time fishing, camping, and participating in water sports. He played a mean game of horseshoes and Rook was his all-time favorite card game.
Being a life-long truck driver kept him very busy and he finally retired from Haven's Steel, Kansas City, Missouri before moving to his current lake front Table Rock Lake home. Adam spent his remaining days sitting on the porch at the home, he helped build, gazing at the lake, with his four-legged companion Lily.
Adam is survived by his three children Cindy Steiner (Cordell Van Eck) of Marshfield, Missouri, Tim Turner (Elizabeth Crongeyer) Springfield Missouri, and Randy Turner and wife Debbie, Independence, Missouri; grandchildren include Leah and Josh Whaley, Adam J. Turner and Kristen Collier; one great grand-child Talon Layne Whaley. Adam was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mae E. Turner and parents Adam and Gladys Turner, three sisters and one brother.
